Professionals class
(120 min.) Kristien’s Professionals class is especially for Iyengar yogateachers. Here you deepen your practice as a student as well as a teacher. You will study the asana’s crisscrossing the Introductory and Intermediate Junior syllabi and you learn by Kristien but also by your colleagues. We basically practice the Intermediate Junior levels and Kristien wil ask you for example how you instruct x or y asana. Also you can ask questions out of your own teaching practice. This training is only for teachers and advanced students in Iyengar yoga (teachertraining) with at least 6 years of regular Iyengar yoga practice. Contact Kristien if you’re not sure you can join.

(120 min.) Kristien’s Professionals class is especially for Iyengar yogateachers. Here you deepen your practice as a student as well as a teacher. When you can't do a regular class because of health problems like chronic illness, fatigue, injury of the bones, muscles or nerves, complications in your pregnancy, consider to come to the Therapy class with Kristien. The focus of this class is to get you back to regular group classes, when ideally the problem is solved or when you got more knowledge about adaptations to work with your problem. It's a semi private class of 60 minutes, in a time span of two hours, where you and Kristien agree on beginning time. There's an intake of 30 minutes where you talk and work with Kristien. Working with injury

Are you having an injury or a recurring pain? In three series of four “Working with injury”-lessons you learn how to adapt the asana’s practised in the regular classes. This is the class where you get hints and tricks of Kristien and ask your questions. A light and open atmosphere should help everyone to learn from each other. You could immediately practice what you’ve been learning in Jacco’s class afterwards. The class from 18:15 to 19:15 is very concise. Theme of the first series is “shoulders and neck”. The next series is about “hips and lower back” from May 2 to 23 and the last one is about “knees” from June 13 to July 4.

(90 min.) In this class ‘More with breath’; you first get to rest and refresh your energy. You learn how to build a bridge for yourself between physical practice to mental repose. During a class like this, you make a step from restorative asana’s to Pranayama, the practice of chanalizing life energy. Where Asana aligns the body, our breathing can open roads for our life force, Prana. You can follow this class if you followed weekly Iyengar yoga classes for one year at least. Please turn to your teacher for advice.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH YOGA?
Choose the goal that fits you

YOGA CLASSES THAT MATCH WHAT YOU WANT

Our yoga classes are organized into 4 primary goals, each with its own corresponding color. You can use those colors to recognize the classes that fit you best. Level 1 (green) is appropriate when you have never or hardly practiced Iyengar Yoga or if you want to perfect your mastery of the basic positions. Level 3 (purple) is the highest level and works best if you are a teacher in training or as a student who exercises intensively and follows at least two Iyengar Yoga classes per week. In addition, you’re also welcome to practice yoga in the presence of a teacher (yellow).

DOUBTS ABOUT YOUR LEVEL?

Are you new to our school and have doubts about the right level for you? Take a class at a level lower than is customary for you. It will make it easier and more fun to get to know us in the class. Come early to class and talk to the teacher. He or she will be happy to advise you on the best level for you. Do you want to steam ahead to a higher level? Remember that the more often you come to class, the greater the progress you’ll make. Our advice is to come at least twice per week and to practice regularly at home or at school. This will allow you to make the most of your abilities and transform yoga into your second nature.

THERAPY CLASSES

The therapy classes on Thursday (blue) are intended for students who, for example, due to Parkinson or MS, are not able to participate in our regular classes. Therapy classes can only be given by senior teachers and are given every Thursday afternoon by Kristien. Are you uncertain whether to take a regular class or a therapy class? Register for one of Kristien’s regular classes and look her up 10 minutes before class starts. She’ll explain to you how to participate in that class. You can, of course, also email Kristien.
