quite a lot of news
Daylight Savings Time has somewhat entered your system and fortunately, you can spare your bike lights again, if you cycle to the Yogaschool in the evening.
We, Iyengar yoga teachers, play with a theme in all lessons every week, a recurring pattern in a month. That gives direction and ease. Read here on our website about the types of lessons in the school and for whom they are. Still, if you take a class at a different time, you’ll notice, hey, the packaging is the same, but what is inside tastes completely different!
The real class, we create together. You get a class but – perhaps unconsciously or unintentionally – you also give something of yourself back. And not only you, but all the body-mind and souls in the room also give. Thank you so much!

Now . . .
- Harriët is back and will teach the General class on Monday evenings from now on. She’ll also replace us where necessary.
- On Wednesday evenings, the Restorative class will be replaced by an extra hybrid General class from 19:30 to 21:00. As said earlier, it will focus on restoring energy in all the various asanas.
- Even more generally, the General Terms and Conditions have been updated. Read them on this page on the website. The part about incorrect payments or unsubscribing from a workshop in time has been adjusted. The school charges 10% administration costs.
And further . . .
Once spring is well underway, then comes the time of ‘strange days off’ and that of ‘going full throttle towards the summer holidays’. To start with the latter: there will be no summer break in Yogaschool Amsterdam this time. Please take your own holiday plans into account when purchasing a new class card. And so:
- April 19th I‘ll be giving a Level 2 training for teachers in Amsterdam, which you can follow even if I am not your mentor. The last session is on July 5th
- Easter April 20th, no class
- All classes will continue Pseudo King’s Day Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th April
- May 5, officially a day off and yet again class
- May 11 YogAteliers in-house, can be followed as a workshop for the advanced student, a great opportunity for anyone who wants to practice longer hours in a group and for people who are thinking about becoming a teacher.
View the schedule from day to day? Then click here for the CLASS SCHEDULE page on our website. There you‘ll find all the classes together. As soon as you click on a class to book, you will swoosh across the internet to the Momoyoga site, where you can create and view your personal account and arrange your classes and many other useful things.
I hope to see you soon on Canal Street! Don’t forget to water the plants and be nice to each other.
Spring greetings!
Kristien
-Sometimes when we are standing with a cup of tea after class, what you always wanted to ask just evaporates and only when you get home do you remember what it was. You can always contact us via the contact page of the website.
-And, writing a review about our school, the classes, the certified teachers, Iyengar yoga itself, what it gives you specifically in your life, is always welcome! Here is the link.
Gaining maturity in yoga practice involves learning to respect the paths other people are on and acknowledging their merits,
maybe even acknowledging that your own path is lacking in some area where another one excels.
