IYENGAR YOGA ATELIER
| By now, we know that emotions are felt in your stomach and can linger, even long after you have experienced something impactful. Whether you swallow food or emotions, a healthy digestive system can process it. It might sound strange, but we will be doing Navel Gazing at the upcoming Iyengar Yoga Atelier on October 18 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Through specific asana practice, we ‘ll refresh our basic knowledge of the organs in your belly. Did you know that you can create space, stimulate, or support an organ with certain asanas? Twists, for example, give the kidneys a boost and thus have a positive effect on the urinary tract. Reclining asanas, with firm support under the floating ribs, help stimulate the liver to release waste products. We may also take a brief detour to the organs in the chest cavity. It is accessible, with the intention of helping you get to know your body and make healthy choices for your practice. Join in and book the class via the button. At the next Atelier on Sunday, November 1, we will move to a more subtle level and study the functioning of glands; for instance, you will learn why regular practice can lead to a better day/night rhythm.
