Guru Purnima
Movie night
On Thursday, July 10, we will celebrate Guru Purnima and, just like last year, we will have a film night. Brace yourself, Peter Brook’s Mahabharata, which takes three hours to tell a long story short.
The Mahabharata is the great war that took place in ancient India many thousands of years ago, intending to restore law and order. This happened because the society of that time was in great moral and ethical decline. More than a historical significance, the Mahabharata has a symbolic significance. For most people, the Mahabharata symbolises the inner struggle that we wage within ourselves every day in terms of making choices such as whether or not to act. (text from Ohmnet.nl)
