Iyengar yoga Introductory certified teacher since October 2017, being trained in Cologne.
I grew up in Koblenz Germany and lived in Cologne, before I moved to Amsterdam just now, May 2019. Next to yoga I’m busy with acting in theatres and on TV. Also I’m learning a lot about Ayurveda in the last few years.
My first yogaclass was in a gym, then I tried out various styles of yoga until I found my “home” in Iyengar yoga.To work with my body in an intelligent way was attractive to me at first, not only for flexibility and strength, staying away from injuries, but also for some quietness in my mind.Studying more I see a systematic, precise and yet creative approach to yoga which takes you from the known into the unknown. Those moments at the end of class, when people are lying in Savasana I love the most. There is such a quiet and peaceful atmosphere and that moment of letting go – if only for one second –touches me deeply.
In Yogaschool Amsterdam I like the open minded and friendly place, that always has a special “side offer” like philosophy lessons or classes for people with special health issues besides regular classes.
People say about my teaching: Dennis has an authentic, open and friendly way of teaching, always on eyelevel with the students. He identifies the need of each student and teaches in a clear and calm manner. If necessary, he motivates people in a pleasant way to go beyond their limits.
